I joined Beauty One International (BOI) back in the Year 2016 when I graduated from university that year. My degree specialisation was Human Resource Consulting and I was always interested in the retail/service industry. The position I interviewed for usually requires a few years of experience in the market. However, BOI chose to give me the opportunity even though I didn’t have any relevant experience. In hindsight, I realised that BOI focuses on an employee’s attitude and always welcomes fresh graduates with the right attitude, even without experience.

With no prior experience, my first few years were tough as the learning curve was steep. However, I was grateful that I had very good mentors who were willing to provide me guidance and support throughout this period. I also had a great team who supported me in my tasks and projects. I was never alone in the projects I did as my teammates were always willing to give a helping hand, even though they were not initially involved in the tasks.

BOI is a company that takes care of its employees. Even during tough times like COVID-19 period, BOI did not retrench any staff or stop distributing bonuses. There was even promotions and salary increment during the period. Our company functions as one big family who supports each other during tough times but will not make employees sacrifice in the name of family.

BOI focuses more on results and achievement than seniority. I might be one of the youngest members in my department, but I have already risen to an Assistant Manager. So long as you have the capability and right attitude, rest assured that we will have a career path planned out for you and there is no limit to where you can climb to.
